If you are using Windows XP, then you may have a virus or adware, because that is enough memory for XP. If using Vista, then you probably definitely need more. Brand doesn't matter, but the type does. If that is a dual core 3.2, then it probably uses DDR2. There are also different speeds of DDR2, so it is important to know exactly which processor you have. You can download a free program called CPUZ that will give you specs on the type of memory you have installed. Run the program, it will pop up a window, go to a tab called SPD, It will give the specs for your memory.
