Is this really as bad as what people make out to be?

I know this doesn't belong here, but I need an adult's perspective, and I apologise as I know how annoying these questions are here. There was this girl I dated out of desperation. I never liked her, she was ugly in my eyes. I flirted with her for the whole christmas holidays, took her out for a meal, paid for 2 of her meals. But when I got fed up of her, I asked her to meet me at the cinema, stood her up, deleted her off my facebook, and never texted her back or picked up her phone calls again.
